HELLO. :D

My name is Ingrid Skard. I'm a typical Norwegian except I regularly live and study in Hungary. Right now I'm in Japan. I'll stay here a year to study the Japanese language, work as a research student and do kendo.

Tuesday: Japanese.
Wednesday: Japanese.
Thursday: Japanese.

Ingrid's extended schedule:
July'06 -- September: Japanese / Japanese / Japanese.
October -- June'07: Study / Work / Kendo.
September'07 --> 2 years: Finish medical school.

I'm supposed to work four weeks at a hospital before going back to Hungary, but ... We'll just see how much Japanese I speak by next year, and whether or any hospital in Okazaki is interested in having a two meters tall gaijin stomping around and scaring the patients.

-- "Why are you studying Japanese? What the hell are you doing over there?" Many reasons. 1. Slightly tired of SOTE, my university in Budapest. Slightly fed up with Budapest, although that's partly my fault for not speaking enough Hungarian. Needs a break. 2. I like Japan and Japanese. I've been exposed to and made aware of Japan and the language much through kendo (if it weren't for kendo I'd probably gone to an Arabic-speaking country instead and learned Arabic). 3. Japan has a huge community for medical research, which gives me an opportunity to work here. As a student now, as a postgraduate later, possibly.
